Embryology & The Fluid Core: An Interview with Michael Shea

Published by Liz Koch on May 22, 2014 in Podcasts

Dr. Michael Shea PhD is an international educator and author in the field of somatic psychology, myofascial release, and biodynamic craniosacral therapy. He is currently an adjunct faculty teacher in human embryology within the pre and perinatal psychology doctoral program at the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute of California. Liz Koch and Dr. Shea discuss embryology as a symbol for healing, wisdom, and wholeness. Using the story of the developing embryo helps us understand the fluid core and the dynamic juicy psoas by shifting the cultural paradigm of body as object to body as a living bio-intelligent process.

Was an amazing interview, thanks both to you Liz for bringing Michael wisdom to us and Michael thank you so much, was so beautiful hearing you talk abut the heart, diaphragm, primary respiration from your buddhist heart.

I am grateful for information that you share with us on the web.
For the last two years my lower back has been giving me a pretty hard time. Only recently I have started to realise that I am simply being signalled that I had been giving my back a hard time all my previous life. Also thank to people like you I am discovering how to listen to my own body and taking better care of it.
Thank you.

Thanks Liz, great interview drawing Michael out.
I had the opportunity to attend two of Michael’s courses; great revision and expansion of his thought.
